Hi all…this is my first Zbrush attempt after having had the program over a year. I was so overwhelmed the first few times I tried it that I shelved it and went back to my pencil and paper art. But I kept coming back because I was so intrigued by the art people have created on these forums. Finally after reading endless tuorials - looking up information here and everywhere on the web -I gave it another try - lol.
Needless to say I still have ALOT to learn. I am brand new to 3d modeling in general, so ANY advice, info links, zscripts, tutorials (lol…you get the idea) will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
I am especially interested in info on modeling finer details, texturing and mapping.
Good first post. There is a lot to learn about ZB. Yhe best way is just start sculpting and make the details. If there are questions you always can post it here and you will get the answer.
Haha … cute! Very nice. The hands and face show that you have, indeed, been studying diligently on your own.
If there’s one key to adding detail to the mesh, it’s mastery of the 2.5D tools (alphas, deco brush, layer brush etc). Even if your main interest is in producing 3D models, it may be a good idea to set aside some time to just play in 2.5D mode. Get used to the restrictions of working in that way, learn how the tools work and so on. Because you need Projection Master to really add detail, and you’ll effectively be working in 2.5D when you power it up.
Good luck. Welcome. And keep posting.
you have the great potential, the legs look a bit too fat, esp lower part, this was my serious post
