My only feedback would be the eyes. I did a quick paint over.
They felt a little flat over all. I raised the center of the top eyelid to round them out, gave the iris a highlight color at the bottom, sharpened the edges of the pupil and threw in an “eyecatch” highlight

I think you’re right! I should have tried to make the eyes shape less symmetrical as you suggest. Good tip!

Especially on the face I think you nailed it. A bit more overall redness, more visible lips and light catcher in the eyes would make a big difference!
The spider is also quite dull too.
