I saw in the start that you said this your first time texture .
so ,i wonder what make this big diffrence finally ?

I think i tough like you and i didn’t compromise for texture I want to post my creature to , but i have some trouble in my texture .

maybe you can give me several advices for realistic color map or skin texture ?
and finally… do you use for this creature displacement map and
bump map which made by hand paint ?

smeagol:small_orange_diamond: i use a bump map and a normal map. about the texture, i don’t have any advice really. I’m still not satisfy.

Really nice execution on this guy, and the bump map really topped the character off. can you give us a brief explanation on how you created the bump map?

jerfoo:small_orange_diamond: for the bump map, i used projection master with some custom alpha. And after that, i edited the map in photoshop.

Please ncollings, could you tell me what are the steps to do the max>zbrush>max> render in vray, cause Im doing one character and cant get those kind of displace/nmap work in max.

i used Brazil for the render! and i only used a Normal map and a bump map on the character.
