Character retopolgy question on ZRemesher Brush

Hello,

So my question is, when using the ZRemesher brush to try and influence where edge loops should be and in what flow direction. do I need to place them around the whole subtools circumference, or just a line on the visible surface?

As a reference here, I am trying to do this for a character and so this would be for cylinder shapes (like arms, legs). Should I work a single guide line around the whole arms circumference or just place a line on the section facing me?

I have also noticed that the brush line senses the starting point and almost highlights / prompts for closing the guide line into a loop (autocomplete?). If this is what I am seeing, how do you actually close the loop (is there a shortcut key)?

Section on this in User docs. Also here http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/3d-modeling/topology/zremesher/using-curves/

I worked it out in the end. Click / Drag / Hold Shift and then a loop appears which you can manipulate into place.
