I want to make a model showing a man transforming into a monster. This is inspired by American Warwolf in London. I’m using a model that I originaly created using zspheres and then retopologised in Maya.
Any feedback welcome.

Sculpt looks good. Wasnt too impressed until this pose and idea. Ill be looking out for the updates.
I added some detail. I’m thinking I’m going to have to push the wolf a bit more.
Let me know what you think.
Cool stuff. I’d say your anatomy is particularly impressive is that a Marvel influence as well. Really like the detailing. Maybe the clothes look a little thick at this stage? I think there’s a lot of impact with his hand starting the transformation I can almost feel his lupus disease spreading away hehe
Can’t believe this forum. Probably the entire community of the world’s best sculptors is starting threads here. Not only humbling it’s also a joy to troll in sometimes.
Makes me definitely want to duck heh.
ow now i know …,so that how you treat zsphere …
cool cool …
I changed up the shirt a bit and added some detail. I just dropped in a background photo to get an idea of what I want to do.
I’m pushing the wolf. I got some good advice and I’m trying to apply it. I’m also going to rework the clothing wrinkles.
Hey Jim,
This is shaping up nicely.
I would love to see a bit more of the pain Jack was experiencing in AWL. He was in terrible agony throughout the transformation. It would put this over the top if you could convey more of that.
Thanks Paul!
I’m thinking of adding what you are talking about in the pose also. His face has lost a lot of the man at this point, but I think I can add a lot of pain in his body. Hopefully I’ll have some time tonight to take another crack at it.
I think this looks amazing, the slightly weird almost fish eye effect on the render is really cool.
What do you use for his hair?
Thanks!
I found that 35 for the camera helps the design…it might go a bit higher. The hair is just some smudging in photshop.
I played with his pose to make him look a little more upset… Also, I worked onthe shirt wrinkles a bit. I couldn’t help, but paint some hair in.
I thought it might be easier to see this way. Also, there is no hair painted in.
Hey, nice work there. Dramatic pose is great and the clothing has really improved since the earlier versions.
There are a couple of minor things that bother me, though. His supporting leg looks a little awkward, perhaps his left foot shouldn’t be obscured - it would help the silhouette’s readability.
Also, the supporting hand on the floor doesn’t have any tension, it doesn’t look like it’s carrying his weight, just kind of flaccid. Maybe the toes on the front foot should be flexed more to show contact with the ground, too.
Ps. I looked on your blog! I love the bat-dude and time-lapse zombification!

Looking good Jim,
I would reverse the face. Make the wolf on the right side and have the human on the left.
It might be cool if the human eye was closed all the way?
There is still something that I really like about the 1st transformation image that you posted. I really like the face on that guy.
This way all the transformation is happening on one side.
Still needs more tension in the hands. (looks like he should be in so much pain that he is digging into the ground with his left hand.
Try putting a ground plane in on the piece and then add a shadow to ground this character, it is a little hard to understand exactly what is going with the pose right now because it is hard to know what his body is resting on right now.
Great work Jim, keep at it!
Peace-NickZ.
Things have slowed down a bit on this guy, but I’m pushing to get him done before Halloween! I haven’t had time to address a lot of the proposed changes, but I did go ahead and change his face back to being more human. I think it lost something having the wolf take over too much of his face.
Great progress! I myself would like to make the right thigh longer, so the bony knee would rip the pants and fur would be showing. I imagine it would give him more character. But still a great piece!
nice mutation
maybe it hsoud of spread to other areas like the
torso or leg like it was suggested. face is fine
at this stage i guess.
nice work
thanx

Thanks guys. I plan on redoing a lot of the pants. I think it’s a good idea to make his legs more mutated. Hopefully I’ll have some time to work on it some more tonight.
Thanks for the feedback!
I added some hair detail and revised the topology in his neck to get rid of some pinching.
