Maybe (no… probably ;)) a stupid question: I’m quite comfortable with setting up my custom UI, but somehow the order of my palettes in my right AND left tray are inversed… is it a shortcut I accidently used? I just want to change the order of my palettes on the fly (for example my ‘tools’ palette is now on the bottom instead of the top, and it’s not as simple as cntrl-alt dragging it to a new position…)

Yes, that’s a quirk of the custom UI. 
You can move the palettes around simply by clicking and dragging on the little circle with an arrow that is at the top of each palette. (The cursor will change to four arrows.) However, if you try to move the palettes within the same tray then they will disappear, so what you need to do is move them first across to the other tray and then back. That way you can insert them where you want. It’s a bit easier if you close each tray by clicking on its title.
