Chameleon

Hi, this is my 1st posted image here!

It is supposed to be a chameleon and rather phot-real. To which extent I was successful, please judge for yourself. I sculpted it in Zbrush ( 16 million points), exported 8K 32bit displacement, 8K 8bit color and cavity. The whole thing was modelled and rigged in Maya. Rendering was done with Renderman for Maya. C&C welcome! Thanks

Great! Chameleons are fascinating animals and your model looks very very great! Don´t know why you got no comments so far but it would be better to insert the image in your post.

Oh my god! I didn´t want that.
Hopefully one of the moderators can delete the double posts.
SORRY!

I like it…excellent job! :+1: :+1:

wow! nice texturing job you got there

Nice work:+1:

Thanks for your nice comments, here are some screenshots of what I did. I rigged it in Maya, so it is actually animatable! Hopefully I`ll get the chance to do an animation with it soon, but for posing it already has been very helpful.
PS: Many thanks to Moni Poroni for the posting hint, I guess this all still new to me here : )

Excellent render! Are his eyeballs missing?

great !

Looks very nice!

please please please tell me how you did those bumps! Alpha maps?

I need to know the type of brush, type of stroke, and a preview of the alpha!

Hi, thanks for your nice comments, everybody!
@dustinbrown: yeah, the eyeballs are missing, I didnt bother to have them in zbrush @Keeper: Here is a sample of the alpha I painted and used, it is a really simple technique, with lots of blood, sweat and tears! All in all it wasnt that bad, but took a few hours…

Ah i see - very clever with the mini / single alpha’s to do the filling in between.

I thought you used some quicker way as I would think that would take a while manually

It paid off though :+1:

Thanks for the idea about how to fill in between. I’m working on something similar and had not thought of that. To simple for my simple mind I guess. Nice work.

great stuff man
can really feel it
