CHAINED - Character Art WIP - Reginald Emvula

Hey all you beautiful people.

‘CHAINED’ is the piece, conan is the character. based on an epic piece of fantasy art by the great Frank Frazetta, its a unique perspective on conan vs the basilisk

Hope you like, feel free to brutally crit (please) as I have yet to get a professional opinion.

Complete sculpt in Zbrush!

(I would appreciate tips on dirt and mapping techs in particular too!)

I eventually intend to have this on a turntable too, but i’ve decided to start on something else for now, feeling a bit jaded

Very nice image, just a word of advice, please keep all image posts in a day to a single post, edit and post within the thread. Your images are taking up three squares of the top row and well many artists like that spot to host a different thread each square. so please if you must try and have only two images floating on the top bar before posting another

The pic is great! Terrific lighting design, modelling, etc. He looks more like the character Den (Richard Corben) than Conan, though.

Tip: Just put ATN instead of ATT any time you have multiple images, that way they stay out of the Pic Rows.

Keep going, add detail! :+1:

ah sorry dudes! i’m a bit new to posting reeeeeaally didn’t realise until my last post that i could put them all in one message XD

I’ll try get on that right now!

eric - i’lll definitely get on detailing. leaving the piece for a month though but some advice on dirt/grit would be VERY much appreciated!

p.s - how do i delete my posts?

I don’t think deleting a post removes images from the rows, so just leave your posts, the images will pass out of the rows on their own.

For dirt and grit you mean you want to paint a texture and possibly include a bump or normal map. There are ample examples of that in the Zbrush docs on this site, and you can also use Noise, keep in mind.

his bum bum looks weird in the first pic like its not bent in the right spot or the crack isnt high enough?

well m still learnin myself so i cant really comment much… but i love the way u’ve illustrated it !! ^^waitin fr that turn table :stuck_out_tongue:
