Chad Emond's Sketchbook (V2)

Hey everyone,

I haven't been keeping up with my old sketchbook over the last few months, so I decided it's time to start up a new one with all the work I've been doing since. For the last few months I've been working with some really great artists who have been helping me develop and learn to become a better artist. (Hopefully!). So now I've been doing 3D for about 6 months, and I've learned a ton, but the road is long and I have tons left to learn.

Here is what I have been working on, and I'm excited to start posting new work and sketches here for everyone to see and comment on.

      Cheers!

We’ll, that was an Epic fail on my part, anyone know why my attachments are just showing at the bottom and not in the post?

Thats pretty weird not sure why your images are not posting right. Contact a mod, they might be able to help you out. Your work looks pretty good. Your anatomy needs a little more attention but its actually not bad at all. Keep it up. :+1:small_orange_diamond:)

Thanks Vsions!

The images should be working now I hope…

Nice work Chad, the belt buckle on the trapper is my favorite :stuck_out_tongue:

Just finished a major retool of my portfolio website. I tried to make it simplistic and to the point but also look professional enough.

The amount of content I have online is lacking I know, but I’ll hopefully be able to show some more stuff soon.

Any crits on the site design, resume construction, and pieces would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Well, I finally got my tablet back from Wacom (yah!), and seeing as I had spent the last week doing nothing but playing the amazing Batman:Arkum Asylum, I had Batman on the brain. So I decided to fire up zbrush and get in a practice sketch.

Here’s what I did so far, just going to do the bust. Next up is adding the suit, and then off to make hair and normal maps for a game model.

hope you guys like it.

Nice stuff! Joker is looking kick a$$!

Thanks Kraken!

Here’s a test if the hair. I’m not sure how it looks sculpted, I may end up doing a combination of sculpt and alpha planes.

Cool work mate. It actually reminds me of Sting! What would he be like playing the Joker? Let’s not go there lol.

Really nice sculpting. Looking forward to seeing an update soon.

Nice work!

His mouth needs a litltle more stretch on the lips. Your second low res mesh has more of the actual look of the mouth than your higher res ones. If you are smiling so wide, the buccinator stretches the lips back and they flatten out in the front and add more tension to the sides of the face. The way you have them now looks like he just went for a Botox treatment

The anti helix of the ear is a bit too high.

Overall great looking sculpt.

Unit0: Thanks for the crits, I’ll impliment those changes in my next update!
Minty: lol well I swear I didn’t use Sting as a reference

Is it just me, or does he look just a bit like Sting…on a really bad day? Nice work. Keep it up.

nicely done!

great sculpt…love it!!:+1:

Thanks for the kind words everyone!

I started working on the polypaint for the model. This is a new experience for me, so It’s a learning process (polypainting).
