Cezar Brandao - Sketchbook2

Nice work, man!! I really enjoy your works!! Keep studying!

Amazing work man !! the sculpt of girl really has a great style, atmosphere and sometihng special. Top row no doubt !!

Congratulations Cezar!
very nice and clean models

cheers =]

You made cold and lifeless polygons give the feeling of female beauty and life, which is only possible in a software like zbrush. It comes closer to life drawing and I’m sure big Pixologic is very proud of this sketch. It’s proving that the boundaries are getting much thinner between computer art and traditional.

Great work, great form, great style. I would kill for some wire-frames or even a technique walk-through. Inspiring work for sure.

I’m sorry, I have to agree. I love this work in this thread, but there has to have been some kind of schism in the world of the moderators on this board recently. Some seriously top-notch work–professional, gorgeous stuff–is being overlooked, while good, but for the most part quite ordinary stuff is making it in.

I guess now it’s just a coin toss when items get added to the Top Row.

But congrats, and it is a gorgeous sculpt! :+1:

Exactly. Indeed. What is it?

is very refreshing! :sunglasses:
Charming

I agree with the previous comments regarding moderation.
Don’t get me wrong, I think the way you have sculpted the head is beautiful, the body however I could critic, still a wonderful sense of rhythm in the whole piece.

It is still a wip and not a completed work.
I think it is on its way to Top Row but not there yet.

I have looked at your blog and must admit you have a serious talent as a character artist.

Would be great to see this work finished.

Hope this doesn’t offend.

It’s nice to see some respect from someone who disagrees with this top row.

I disagree that things have to be finished to make top row but I respect your opinion and more importantly, appreciate your consideration.

Please criticism and comments are welcome.

Thanks!

Very fine
congratulations on the Top Row.

The following link is the last well-deserved Top Row post, imo: http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?t=94675&page=23&pp=15

I for one meant no to offend. I am just curious whether it turned to a system like over at cghub where the admins decide top row no matter what the community says? It’s a legitimate question, perhaps put in the wrong place I agree. I love that *unfinished pieces get up there, cause otherwise I would never have a shot

Congrats once again! (Sorry Julian ;)) *from a production standpoint anyways, though I don't agree a piece that isn't finished by that kind of standards necessarily isn't finished in artist's eyes so I'm against top rows and grades all over in general. That would mean that this (and any other "art") community is against the artist when no understanding is at hand wehn he says I'm done, and the public says no you're not :D. Rodin wouldn't have a chance in this kind of a forum, and would always be considered a wip, right?

well said Cherub :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

Thank you

And another thing, I don’t wanna send pm to admin to ask about this, I would like for this to be well known to everyone here on zbc. So perhaps when admins come here to sort this mess out they’ll see my plead. I think it will stop the fighting if we get an answer to: Why were before 20x5 stars necessary to get the top row, and what has changed now? If it is Pixologic doing this, for what cause?

Thanks

Thank you Eric, though it was not your intention you have given a great example of why Cezar’s work, and work like it, is a valid and crucial addition to the top row. The link you posted shows a collection of beautiful, meticulously crafted, wonderfully lit and textured work in abundance. Yet, I, and I suspect many others including Pixologic would agree, that non of the work showcased there exudes one bit more personality nor presence than Cezar’s, “simple,” sculpts.

Detail, expression, style, volume of work, difficulty of execution, ease of execution, multi-disciplined execution. These are all things worthy of praise and non are mutually exclusive. Digital art is in it’s infancy. In order to grow we must constantly challenge our notions of what is worthy of our attention and praise. There is room to appreciate more than how someone has worked or how much detail they have put in.

Despite the amazing levels of detail and polish achieved in 3D art, there is a stunning deficit in personality and expression. It is always refreshing to see that barrier broken. I look forward to seeing more of it in all work, from the least detailed to the most.

The thread he linked to has already been on the top row twice.
