Cesar Dacol Jr sketch book.

Another wicked sculpt! definitely going to get some clay!!!

Couple of questions if I may?

  1. In your video have you got some subliminal images in there flashing up at the start? keep trying to pause it at the right time but keep missing whatever is flashing.

  2. What is the base you are using, and how are you fixing the wire to it? Be REALLY cool if have the time to show us how you set up your support wires.
EDIT: Woops! You already covered this!:

    Thanks!

  3. How do you keep your models from drying out when you work on them for a long time, say models that take days to make?

Oh I have loads more questions, but I don’t want to bore everyone.

Hi Steve, Yes I will be demoing for Pixologic at this year’s Siggraph.
dustbin1_uk, ha, ha, ha… you caught me.
It’s my evil satanic messages that will corrupt your minds into following me so that I may rule the universe.
Oooops, guess I shouldn’t have said it out loud. Darn, guess it won’t work now.
As for drying out, the only one I used water based clay on is the Minotaur.
The rest are using a clay called C10 by DimClay.com
It’s an oil based clay and thus doesn’t need any water. It won’t dry. Very cool stuff.

Today something for the kids. I give you a anime manga styled forest guardian. Enjoy.

Great work! I am truly amazed

One question though

How do you get your models into the kiln? Usually wire can go through but I don’t think wood can. Im just a little confused on how you fire your models.

Thanks!

I love this last one, I would really like to see it move. Really great pose as well.

Hi Jon.
The clay I am using is oil based. It doesn’t need to be cooked.
It also never really sets either, so if you wanted to get a hard copy, you would have to mold it.
Storm, that’s funny. The whole time I was sculpting him, I kept thinking the same thing. Ha, ha, ha…
OK, so here’s today’s sculpt a Vampire called Nosferatu.

A herculean task executed by a living master of his craft. Keep rocking it, brother Cesar!
Love every one…especially the last one!!!

Cesar, what can I say! the advice you gave on this one really hit home, it felt like you are talking right at me about something I’ve been struggling with for a while! I heard ya man! I mean that! Thanks!

Nosferatu is one of the best ones you have done so far, those little eyes are looking right my neck!!!

Oh yeah and saw a comment about the music. Personally I love the music, even after 16 times, it’s a part of this project, and makes my foot tap and head bop every time.

EDIT:
Would love to see your casting process on one of these models.

Thanks Joe.
Truly appreciate it brother. You Da’man.
Thanks dustbin.
Really happy to hear it may have helped you.
I will most likely do a molding video. But it will have to wait as I have
allot on my plate in the coming months.
But rest assured it is on my to do list.
So here’s the video for today.

YES! just went and checked out some of your videos. Love them and you are so full of energy and silly, like it. It’s nice to see some more traditional work up here for a change. Made me want to dust off my old sculpt area and get to it…but then I remembered that my old sculpt area is now my sons closet. :frowning:
Anyway, keep it up, you’re awesome!

Just one, one character I’d like to see that wasn’t awesome… damn your eyes, sir, you’re good!
