Hey all.
Its my first post here.
I started basic modeling in XSI, and detailed in Z brush (Normal Map, face Diffuse map…), finaly rendered in 3D MAX(Mental Ray).
Please let me know what you guys think. thanks!

This is a great first post (very gealous) Nice work.
Maybe play with the lighting and lower the spec in some of the textures (stairs look a little metallic)… but this is just personal preference.
Really great stuff, look forward to seeing your future work
cool looking warrior…like the hard work ya put into it.
only crit would be he looks too clean but perhaps he is in his “dress blues” before heading into battle.
post up some more work!
Beautiful armor. I love the details. The pose on his legs is nice also. The lighting seems a bit off from the background though. It seems that he would have a warm light from the lower right in the first illustration. This would then
give him a hot rim light on his right side and give him more of a darker core.
He’s look moodier and probably a bit more menacing. Don’t know if that is what you are looking for though. The lighting you have now shows off the armor details well, so take my advice with a grain of salt.
Either way, I really like your work, so keep 'em coming…
Welcome to the forums…

Thanks a lot guys for comment, and advice!!
Zbrush is great tool for detail works.
Thanks again…and here some more pics.
Z brush Face modeling
Nice work so far.
One thing I would say is that as far as I know, lorica segmentata (Roman banded armor) did not include full length greaves (leg protection) of the sort you depict here.
If you are trying for historical accuracy, I’d probably lose all the metal armour below the waist…
Somehow I don’t think I would worry too much about Historical accuacy at this point. This is a magnificent model and well worth the time you spent doing it.
Nice work! I really like the armor pieceQ Excellent work.
NLightUK : Thanks for comment, and Im not trying for historical accuracy. It just a fantasy warrior based on historical accurcy, but thanks a lot of your advice.
Tartan : Thanks alot for the kind words man.
