Centaurette WIP

This is my first serious zbrush model, other than doodles to learn the program, though I’m quite experienced in regualr poly modeling.
I’m currently designing a series of 6 sculptures in a neoclassical style, and this is the first.

I can’t believe no one has replied to this yet!?!? Great model man, really nice. I would like to see more angles and breakdown. Do you plan on texturing this and your other 5 models or is this strictly for modeling? Regardless, nice style and great render!

Well slap me silly, missed this. Beautiful centaur, one of the nicest renditions I’ve seen. I can see several things that bother me, but who cares - great work! I’m sure others will jump all over certain tings, but keep this one pristeen. Work on a copy if you must. :wink:

Very nice model and render. Great job getting the material / texture to look like it was carved right out of stone. How bout some more shots from different angles.

Beautiful Idea. Nice to see a female centaur for a change.

The classic style is my favorite. Those old time marble sculptors were the real thing. We can only hope to aspire to fall in their shadow.

Really good, though the ears look a little small from this angle…but thats your call.

This is the base mesh from lightwave. I modeled the head quite a bit first, since heads seem a lot easier to control with polygons.

And a few shots from zbrush. THe mesh is 250,000 polys, I could take it up another division, but I’m happy with this resolution.

I’m not going to do much texturing, since it’s supposed to be white marble anyway, textures aren’t going to add much. I think the sss is enough.

I’ve been doing some rendering in LW lately. Can you tell us how you did the shader (SSS) in lightwave?
