The cavity masking option in the brush palette doesn’t seem to be working - only just noticed that as I’m using a lot of cavity polypainting at the moment.
Mask by cavity in the masking menu is functioning but it’s displaying the mask which is obstructing the view. Any ideas? Does anyone else have the same problem?
Hi Magda,
There have been various issues with brush Auto Masking reported. If you are using Mask by Cavity you can turn off View Mask, so that the mask remains but is hidden.
HTH,
nevermind…I’m such a boob…damn you dyslexia.
thanks guys
- lol view mask :hitpalm: - I’m so bright hehe
Okay I would like to revive the thread
I just tried that technique because automasking is not working here aswell…
I can create the mask and view the mask, but if I want to use the mask for polypaint it doesnt work. It just like I’d use no mask, zbrush doesnt recognize the mask …
Whats wrong?
same issue for me, automasking form the mask menu creates a mask but seems to have no effect on the polypaint. i thought it could be due to the existence of 3d layers, but also after baking all the data same result, the mask is there but has no effect on the polypaint…hope this will be fixed sooon
You could try this

Hope that works for you.
