In Z4R2 I can enable auto cavity masking and it works dandy until I select another subtool. It’s ineffective on any other subtool and the icon to activate it is shadowed out. I checked to see if polypainting was active on the other subtool and it was. When I return to the original subtool it functions again as well as the icon no longer being shadowed. I even attempted to disable auto masking to switch subtools but the same issue happens again. Perhaps I am missing one obvious thing, but I am a little disconcerted. Any advise or help would be appreciated.
I suspect that your other SubTools only have a single subdivision level. Cavity auto-masking requires a model to have at least two levels. To make it work with a model that has only one level, simply divide the model once to give you the necessary second level.
I suspect you were right about the subtools! Thank you.
