Hi Zbers! I am practicing drawing with my Wacom tablet. I’ve drawn a wonderful sphere that I am quite happy with, but I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get a correct cast shadow on the ground. Does anyone know the formula for getting this right, considering the light source and perspective? I have Googled trying to get a tutorial, but nobody seems to address this directly. Any help would be sooo appreciated. I already know how to calculate cast shadows for a cube and such. I guess I could draw a cube around my sphere, in proper perspective, and fit a shadow into that, but I didn’t start out with a cube, so I don’t know how to properly place one over my sphere in order to do that. Does my question make sense? I either need to find out how to calculate the shadow geometrically, or find out how to draw a cube around an existing sphere.
Thanks, in advance.
