Case of the Vanishing Zspheres.

Hi, guys. I’m trying to make a chair in which the cushion is a mouth and am getting a wierd mesh display and vanishing of zspheres. This is in 3.5. Rich.

Hi, perhaps not overly helpful, a bit OT, but I noticed on your screenshot the “abberations” in some of the detail, That is, the dark pixel rings, sorta ghosting around areas (probably where the zshperes are/were). I’ve seen this in my stuff that I’ve been fooling around in zspheresII and think maybe its a bit of a bug…
I may be wrong on that, but am currently collecting data to put a report in for, if I can get enough coherent repeatable info.
I usually stop, save and reload ZB, reload the tool and it seems to get up ok…

Hi, teknofreek, thanks for your response. Yeah, I tried to clone the tool and also restart and the tool comes up the same. Sounds buggy. I’m using 3.1 for awhile. I wonder if it’s a known issue fixed in 3.5r2, which I don’t have yet.

Had a similar problem myself while playing with ZSpheres in 3.5R2.

I simply drew one ZS, Turned on Symmetry, Dragged out two more ZS’s.
Then I click-dragged to rotate the model slightly, only to have it vanish from
my screen, as I rotated further, it re-appeared.

Weird stuff.

Example:

Rot1.jpg: Very simple ZS model on screen in edit mode.

Rot2.jpg: Same model rotated to the left with click-drag on the screen.
I haven’t cheated, the model really does vanish! Rotating some more will
bring it back.

This doesn’t happen often, but I haven’t yet figured out whats triggering it.

G.
