So I followed the instructions to upgrade to 2022 and it said once upgraded I could uninstall the earlier version of zbrush, it emphasized not to deactivate it. However there is no uninstaller in the zbrush folder and my add/remove programs only sees the new zbrush. Is it okay just to delete the old version/folder?

There is an Uninstall folder with the uninstaller in it in every installation of ZBrush. Did you just overlook it by any chance?

For the record, ZBrush 2021 and ZBrush 2022 install as separate programs, and it isn’t necessary to uninstall one in order to use the other. Both will use the same license activation, though you can only run one at a time.
