Can't turn off lighting on specific Tool? (answered)

I’ve tried searching the forums, and google and haven’t been able to identify the issue. I’m hoping it’s something simple I’m overlooking. I go into the light tab, and shut off the lights but no matter what I do I have this bright ambient light. Doesn’t matter what else I do, how many lightcap or combinations of light I try, this same lighting seams to appear on my subtools.

If I load other tools, it seems fine so I’m wondering what setting I screwed up on this tool.

You might open the Materials palette and click show used. There’s this, maybe you assigned a lightcap? http://docs.pixologic.com/user-guide/materials-lights-rendering/lights/lightcap/

OK, seems that when I tried to learn how to assign materials to the different subtools, it’s screwing up my lighting. I can turn off the pen icon in the subtools, and each piece goes dark.

Thanks, that helped me narrow it down. Just have to research more on how to use materials it seems.
