cant see what I'm retopoing

can someone tell me how to adjust the mesh dimmer while I’m retopoing? I started retopoing a model and the points on the front are just as bright as those on the back so i can’t see what I’m doing and its starting to give me a headache trying to work around it. any help is appreciated.

I’ve had the same problems since using zb4. It’s rather frustrating. You can adjust the mesh transparency under the Draw menu. Go to Preferences > Draw, and you’ll find sliders for front and back opacity. It helps a little, as far as being able to see what you’re working on better, but this still doesn’t prevent you from accidentally selecting points on the opposite side of your mesh. A culling feature would be great but so far I have yet to find one.

The only work-around I’ve managed to have success with is using 3.5r3 for my retopology, as it seems to work better there. Export the model as an obj and import it into 3.5r3. It will still read your poly groups if you import as an obj but it can’t read zb4 ztools directly. That is, if you still have 3.5r3. I’m not even sure if we’re “supposed” to still have r3, but I haven’t seen anything that says we can’t use both versions.

maybe that will help.
