Can't rotate or use symmetry

Hi there! Just registered, as I have a problem, a probably really obvious one, but I am no expert at Zbrush, though hopefully one day! I’v been following tutorials quite happily and even started my own projects, but a few times I’v managed to do something to whatever it is I’m sculpting where I can’t rotate it, or use symmetry mode, I think it becomes a tool or something, but I can’t edit what I have created. And now whenever I start a new project, I create a Zsphere, but I can’t rotate around that, or use symmetry mode on it.

Please forgive me if its something incredibly obvious, I’v tried finding a solution, but this is my last resort! So any help would be hugely appreciated.

Oh and nice to meet you all.

sounds like you’re leaving Edit mode (T). You have to be in edit mode to work. If you leave edit mode and then make a stroke on the canvas you’re now putting down a new mesh to work on (which is probably the same as what you want to work on), the only problem is your old model is now dropped to the canvas.

To clean your canvas just hit CTRL+N and then F to frame your other object. If you’re not in edit mode, just turn it on and hit F. If nothing comes up, just draw your mesh back on the canvas and then enter edit mode.

If that isn’t the problem we’ll probably want some picks to help us better understand what it is you’re looking at.

Ah cheers yeah it was clearing the canvas that was needed. Many thanks
