Can't polypaint over base color

Greetings, Everyone:

I’m trying to learn to polypaint. I selected a MatCapWhite, went to the Color palette, typed in a specific RGB code, hit Fill Object. Fine. The tool filled with the proper color. But when I change color and try to paint over the base color, nothing happens. (Rgb=100, Rgb on, Zadd/Zsub off, standard brush) There is no texture, no masking, nothing that should interfere. Any thoughts?

Hey, you might check if Colorize is on, under Tool/Polypaint.
