Can't open corrupted tool file

Has anyone else run into this and been able to recover? I hate to throw away half a days work. Here’s the error I get when I try to reopen the Tool (mesh):

INTERNAL ERROE.\Mash#DDXF.coo Line:12898

Error while reading m_pLinksFaceList

:frowning:

Please follow the Q&T guide lines in here

Much more information is needed before we can help you. Was the mesh originated in ZBrush 3.5? Is it from 3.1? Did you crash? Do you have sufficient disk space? Did you activate the auto recovery function? Did you install any 3.1 plugins in 3.5? Which operating system are you using? what’s your system specs.
Please include any other information which may help.

It’s probably dead. Best fix in the future: incremental saves every so often (I do one about every 15 minutes). Occasionally save your highest res as an .obj (you can reconstruct subdivision levels once reimported–I do this for my most critical models at the end of the day.)

System spec:

AMD Athlon Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3.00 GHz
4 GB RAM
32 Bit Windows Vista

The original mesh was made in 3.1. Edited in 3.5. Saved several times during the day with no problems in 3.5.

Zbrush did crash after this error.

No 3.1 plugins installed.

Auto recovery?

Yes, plenty of disk space. 49.8 GB free.

I have a similar issue. I can’t open my recovered tool now nor my previously saved version. When I try to load that tool from a previous save it gives me: Error while reading m_pLinksFaceList Object.
I understand that I may not be able to open the recovered tool but why my previous save as well?

System specs:

64 bit Vista with service pack 2
