I got a tool from a colleague who is working with 3.5 and can’t open it in 3.2 -Mac. We also tried to open it with 3.1 -PC and that didn’t work neither. Is there any solution to open 3.5 tools in earlier versions of ZB?

It’s not possible. Tools are usually forward compatible with newer versions of ZBrush, but are never backward-compatible with older ones. This is because there are new features that have been added and the older versions don’t know how to handle them.
You could export the highest and lowest subdivision levels. In the lower version, import both and append the low level one to the high one. Subdivide it to have the appropriate number of levels, then project the details across before deleting the high level one.
