For some reason, even with the Enable Custom UI button enabled and the UI unlocked, I can’t change a thing. I imported my UI from ZBrush 3.5r3, but wasn’t happy with the fact my Line lazymouse backtrack button turned into the line stroke button, so I tried to change it out. Ctrl+dragging doesn’t work. So, I deleted the old UI, thinking maybe something borked out on the change, but that didn’t work, either. Any ideas?
It is a good idea to not use an old UI configuration file with a new ZBrush version. Old button ID’s referencing the new button ID’s (like you experienced) and custom subpalettes will mess with the 4.0 layout.
In any case, CTRL + ALT is now used for assigning hotkeys and for dragging interface items around (once Preferences > Custom UI > Enable Customize has been enabled).
If you create a custom menu start the name with a ~ (tilde). This won’t show on the UI but will avoid an issue with the menus offsetting. (On some keyboards you may need to press a different key to get the ~ character, e.g. on the UK keyboard use the @ key.)
For some reason i cant add custom brushes to my UI.
I drag Dam_Standart to the UI, save the confing file, save the UI and when restart ZB it disappears!
What is the problem, is there something new in ZB that iam missing ?
Custom brushes need to be loaded at start up to be part of the UI. Copy the Dam Standard brush from the ZBrush 4.0/ZBrushes folder to the ZBrush 4.0/ZStartup/BrushPresets folder. It will then appear in the Brush palette on start up and can be part of your custom UI.
Finally!!! Thank you dude!
