I really need help and i need it fast if possible.
No matter what i do i just can’t add 6th subdivision level. Everything is fine up to 5th lvl but when i try to add 1 more and hit apply it just doesn’t work it stays at 5…
I really need that 6th subdiv to reproject from another mesh that has exactly 6 lvls.
Any ideas?

How long do you wait when you try to add level 6? Depending on your system, it could take a little while to compute that last level if polygon count is going to be high. Do you get the following message (see image)?

To elaborate a bit on what ZBer2 has mentioned, I’ll just say that the most common reason for not being able to subdivide a mesh further is that it would result in a mesh over your max limit in Preferences> Mem. Every subdivision multiples your point count x4. If this would result in a mesh that exceeds your max setting, it will fail. Keep in mind that the maximum per subtool polycount in ZBrush is 100 mil polygons.
However, you really should be seeing a pop-up informing you that this is the case. If you are not seeing this, there may be an issue with the mesh.
Working at extreme polycount is performance intensive, and the subdivision at that level could take a short time, depending on system specs.
I don’t really wait that long but its not loading anything so what should i be waiting for?
Anyway it wouldn’t exceed 100mil, should be around 32mil.
There is no pop-up or anything.
I found kind of work around for this specific job but it would be good to know what’s wrong so that i don’t have that same problem in the future.
I dont know if that helps but. Now that i have that mesh with 6subdiv, its pretty much the same mesh with difference face but w/e i don’t need the face for what i’m doing with it but when i tried to add 2nd subtool, again the same mesh, and subdivide, the highest lvl i got was 4.
Idk im kinda lost.
1st subtool: 32.7 mil on 6th lvl
2nd subtool(the one i tried to subdivide): 2mil on 4th lvl
Preferences set to 100mil
