Cannot subdivide after subtool extract

Using a mask on an existing mesh, I clicked ‘Extract’ to create a new subtool. When I select the new subtool and click Divide, the number of polygons increases but the SDiv slider is still disabled. Checking the Polyframe, I can see that the subdivisions are not uniform, with many triangles. If I export the subtool as an .obj and then re-import it, then the mesh can be subdivided. But the scale changes significantly from the original mesh.

What is the proper way to extract a subtool?

Hey there,

you extracted the subtool correctly BUT on every extracted subtool is a mask even if it’s not visible. So just clear your mask and you should be able to subdivide.
