Cannot move a mesh 3D made from Alpha (answered)

Im a new user of ZB so Im working through the app.

I made some greyscale images in PS and imported them as alphas. Then tried to make 3D tools Alpha > Make 3D. Which works OK
But I cannot manipulate the tool on the canvas using the transpose line of action. Instead of entire tool moving, only some of the pixols from the mesh are moved.
I tried making changes to the settings for the aplha and for the 3D model. But no success.

I also find I cannot use MatchMaker with a tool made from an alpha. I get the same effect, where only some of the pixols are moved.

I also note that when I subdivide the tool, subdiv levels are not reported in the Tool > Geometry palette even though the tool shows an increase in number of polys.

I believe 3D from alpha is an “old” feature of ZB. But I could not find any previous posts with this problem. So I can only assume I am doing something wrong.

When you create your tool from the “Make 3D from Alpha” Try using the “Clear Mask” funtion before editing. ‘Control key’ and swipe your mouse or wacom in empty space on the canvas. This clears any masks. for some reason there is a masking residue left over from the creation process. But this works. I just repeated your issue and this clears the problem.
