Can you make a visible sub tool behave like it is transparent & not attract the brush

If for example you have two sub tools and you are using an insert mesh brush on the active one.

I have noticed that the insert mesh brush will still also follow the surface of the inactive sub tool
So that if these meshes are close to each other and overlapping where you want to do the insert
If your brush is over the inactive subtool it will use the normal from that surface to position the insert.

I have found that turning on transparent will only make the brush “see” the active subtool

Is there any way to achieve this while still having nonactive sub tools fully visible? Can layers be used for this?

Thank you

2016 !!! We Made it. Best wishes to all.

I think if you turn on Ghost as well as Transparency then the inactive subtools will be ignored.

Happy Holidays!

Thanks, yes Marcus with transparent and ghosted turned on inactive subtools will be ignored.

But what I would like to do is have the inactive subtools be ignored but have them not be transparent or ghosted.

Marcus option is the only one.
