Can u use zbrush to enhance 2d paintings?

Can u use zbrush to enhance 2d paintings? How so?

Yeah, I do it all the time. Zbrush is my secret weapon in 2d art.

  1. Start by turning your material to Flat Color making sure your color is set to white.

  2. In the Texture menu, import the 2d art.

  3. In the Texture menu, hit Crop and Fill.

  4. Now you’re ready to paint on your 2d canvas using zbrushes 2d tools.

  5. When done you can export the image via the Document palette.

If you need to have advanced control over things like symmetry or layers, then create a plane 3d of the same dimensions as your art first, flat color, white. Then draw it out on the canvas. Then apply your art as a texture to it.

Once that’s done you can paint over it with layers, use symmetry, 3d sculpting brushes etc…then when you’re done, grab the texture from the model and export it back to 2d format. Edit it in whatever your other art app is, then you can bring it back to zbrush and add it as a texture for further work.
