Can I use Zbrush?

Hello I was wondering if I am able to use this program. The reason I have doubts is that I can not draw worth crap. I have trouble drawing stick figures sometimes that’s how bad it is. Should I try to learn how to draw before I even attempt this? How much drawing is involved in this, because I think it is more like sculpting.

Also is there a certain way I would use this for games to keep the models lower poly so I can put them in a game engine? I heard that this program makes really high poly models but then I am watching Dev videos of Age of Conan, Unreal, and other games where they are using them. Am I supposed to model them a certain way or is there a special setting or what to get them low poly.

Also I have a Bamboo tablet should I think about getting a better tablet for this program and if so what kind? The Bamboo I have now is the cheapest one, I got it for like $70.

Thank you for your time,

Rayteku

P.S. I hope these have not been asked before and if they have I am sorry. Also I hope I put this in the right section I could not find any other questions section.

I think it’s safe to say that most people here learned to draw well before they moved on to painting or sculpting or anything else. ZBrush is just another medium.

Personally, I took figure drawing and quicksketch repeatedly for about a year before I had the confidence to try other things. A strong foundation in drawing helps lower the learning curve significantly for other mediums.

Hes using a bamboo so you should be fine ^^

There are people who asked the same thing as you once in awhile

Learn to draw first, its the basic of everything. In most visual arts medium, even with professional photographer, therere needs to understand the concepts of forms and figures.
Without them, you can`t do squat.

As for ZBrush, judging from how you said, I`ll guess that you have limited 3D knowledge.

You can make lo-res mesh in either other apps, or ZBrush.
The hi-res mesh was created from subdividing the lo-res mesh,
ZBrush retain both in ZTool format, as long as you don`t delete them.
You can them map the displacement or normal map onto the lo-res

Another option, which is becoming more frequently use is retopology,
You can create a really hi-res model, then create a new lo-res mesh base on it.
