Can I sculpt on hidden geometry using mirrored actions?

Hi Forums,

I’m currently modeling a character and near the feet the spacing is a little close so I’m wondering if there is a way to hide one leg, scuplt the other leg with mirrored actions on (using the “X” key) and have the actions affect the hidden geometry. Thanks.

Dave

No, it won’t work that way. What you could do is turn Symmetry off, hide one leg, do your sculpting then do a ‘Mirror And Weld’ in "Geometry’ subpalette. Everything on the left side of the center line will be mirrored over to the right of the center line.

Ah thanks, I was hoping to avoid the extra step. The mirror and weld does not like multiple subdivision levels.
