Hi!
By default you have Mask pen brush when press CTRL, and you can PAINT a mask on mesh,
also with the same tool you can draw a rectangle when star from outside the mesh.
I want to know if there’s a way to change the a rectangle to a lasso mask when you use mask pen tool from outside the mesh?
If not, can I customize a mask pen brush to do that way? How?

While holding down Ctrl, click on the Stroke icon and select the Lasso stroke first. Then you can start off the mesh. Rectangle, Circle, Curve and Lasso stroke can all be used in this way.

Maybe I was not clear.
Yes, this method is normal, but you need keep switching between Lasso and Mask Pen.
What i mean, is that, with Mask Pen Brush selected on CTRL you can make two things.
What i want is, when i draw from outside the model using Mask Pen Brush, Instead of a rectangle i want the lasso.
This could speed up my workflow since i use mask a lot and i’m used to make lasso selection instead of rectangle in others 3D programs.
In this way i could paint a mask over the mesh without paint back faces, also use lasso selection to mask things that pop up from mesh like horns or limbs without need to change the brush.
in fact, keep switching Mask tool on every 30s is becoming annoying to me.
I’m using hotkeys to switch now, BUT i just wanna know if there’s a Mask Pen Brush with Lasso and not Rectangle selection.
