can export animation from Maya to ZBrush and render in it?

Everyday everybody export mesh from ZBrush to Maya then rig and skin them for animation. Is it possible to reverse the process? Is it possible to render animation by using ZBrush?

Yes, it is possible. You’ll have to import your meshes first and work as is fit for your needs within the constraints of the program.

I see… just import mesh of every frame into ZBrush then render the scene… There’s no script or plugin to do these things? I mean no others have such demand? ZBrush’s shaders are such brilliant inovation and ZBrush itself is as well. No one ever think about to use ZBrush to render animations?

That’s one way but not really what I was thinking. Import your mesh/s, rig inside ZBrush. Timeline might lack in functionality from what you may be familiar with though.

If you can export an MDD file from Maya (I think a plugin is necessary) then that can be imported into ZBrush through the Tool>Layers sub-palette and then animated through the TimeLine.

Thanks, I never know ZBrush has such function, it’s so great!
