Camoflaudge material Request.

Hi Pixologic people

Umm I was wondering about this material here :

I have used this material in the past when Skinning (textureing) playermodels for videogames. I was wondering :

  1. How do I change the colors on that material?

  2. Could you guys make a specila material just for cammoflaudge? perhaps one that dose like woodland, and NEW marpat material?

There probably is already a way to do this and I have just not discovered it yet. but anyways…

if you guys are marketing this to videogame makers, camoflaudge is being used alot in games. it is used in SCI-fi and realworld games alot, and I think it would be a fun and verry popular material.

well thanks for reading this  BTW I realy like the above material, it is almost perfect colors for old WW2 camo…

thanks

re 1: you just have to change the main colour (took me some time to find out, my mind being locked on the material palette :D) fiddling with the noise graph and other noise-settings might enable you to do a camouflage mat yourself.

WOW! that was easy! thanks Juandel!

I was stuck over in the material propertys also  lol

Thanks again

Polaris - just an aside you may find helpful. You can easily create a camouflage texture you could import into ZBrush using Paint Shop Pro or PhotoShop etc. together with a free plugin called (unoriginally) Camouflage. Sorry, I don’t have the details to hand, but a search of the free plugin sites should reveal it, or if not let me know and I’ll try to dig out the details.

Yea,

I use this plugin  realy nice have had it for about 2 years now and havent ever seen anyone make any other attempt at makeing a camo generator…

When I handpaint camo it always looks off to me.

I use other software called texture maker (used to be called I-tex) …
I make 1 image 256x256 and add random noise to it… then I make a image 1024x1024 and use the smaller image as a mixmap to get simulated MARPAT patterns… I repeat the process with the smaller image untill the larger image is full of the patterns…

well I am going to go and play around with this some more… maby there is another material I can tweak to make MARPAT and woodland…

I’ve tried Texture Maker too. It seemed quite a nice program, but rather larger and more pressing expenditure (new PC) came along before I got around to registering it. Thanks for th reminder - maybe I’ll revisit that option shortly/

actually , there’s a pattern in photoshop in nature patterns that constists out of leafs , if you fill your window with that pattern and add a guassian blur you have your camouflage texture :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks guys…

Ummm I am still a Paint SHop Pro lammer… I might get enough to buy photo-shop soon, maby I can go to school and get a student rate
