Namely the symmetry buttons. I have other buttons from the transform pallet in the shelf above the document window and they are fine. However, the symmetry buttons that I have placed above the doc window are missing every time I start ZBrush. It’s quite annoying and a bit mysterious. Please help!
I looked through this entire forum and didn’t see an answer but if I just missed it, I apologize. Thanks.
have you save it?
as a custom ?
Yes, absolutely.
I basically changed (and saved) the entire UI and only the symmetry buttons refuse to stick.
quite strange.
Ugh…ok, I think I’m an idiot. :o Apparently, the symmetry buttons don’t even exist in the transform menu until you enter edit mode… So, my custom UI buttons are missing from their new location upon start up but as soon as I enter edit mode they reappear just where they should be. And now I’m left here feeling quite silly.
Well, maybe this will at least help someone else out there…and if not, sorry for wasting space.
Ok maybe I’m not as dumb as I thought. Upon firing up ZB again those buttons are missing, again, even in edit mode and I cannot get them to stay there. Something is not right at all.
Can the Mods please unresolve this? Sorry.
I’ve been describing a similar problem. I can get Symmetry to load, but not at the same time as Active Points.

Hmmm, I actually removed the active points from my custom UI before I noticed this was happening and still it continues.
I am also having this same problem - I made a custom UI with the symmetry buttons and they have disappeared - I can get them back in the original drop down menu when I enter edit mode but they will not show up where I dragged and dropped them into a custom UI panel.
Ok, so Svengali has been so kind as to create a custom button set for those users experiencing this problem. Just extract the zip into your Startup > Zplugs folder. Open ZBrush and in the Plugins drop down select Svengali. Then just drag the buttons to your custom UI with Customize enabled. Then Store Config. That’s it! Now the buttons remain and are kind enough to remind you that you are not in Edit mode should you select them when not in edit mode.
You can get it here:

Thanks a lot Sven!
