Found an other great real model. Hope to work more and more anatomy and likeness.

Hey Xada,
haven’t been here for quite a long time. Way too long to comment all the beauty you have posted.
Just want to thank you. Your productivity is a great inspiration.
Your Faun is a beautiful creature, but as I said. Too many to comment all.
Thanks so much for sharing!
Knacki
Thanks a lot Knacki. comments are really rare. such as yours is helpful. great! lets keep on these unstoppable works!
Here is a new WIP. As usual, un-really-finished stuff…but there i’m not satisfied as i can be sometimes. will work on face. But also, i feel like it is just a new useless sculpture . let’s call it exercise!!

It goes without saying that your sculpts are magnificent and I love coming back to your thread to see your new work…so instead I will try to find out more about some technical things:
- Do you still render in blender or is everything in keyshot now?
- You export a ton of your models to sketchfab. Do you export to OBJ and then load into sketchfab?
- Do you have to decimate or retopo and use normal/displacement maps? Or do you just keep your polygon count low in general?
I would love to render my models in blender because Cycles is so much better (to me) than ZBrush’s baroque materials system, but usually they’re hi-rez and take a lot of work to be manageable (size-wise) in blender.
Thanks for any advice or input,
LH
Hi lhumungus and thanks.
*Every renders are done in Blender Cycles. I’m happy with it. i discovered it after i have tested Keyshot that is stunning…But Cycles is free!!
*Yep, i do export .obj to sketchfab. most are decimated. I only use normals when i also export diffuse texture. i’m not really happu with UV and decimation.
Yes Blender is an incredible cool world!
Though, it’s so cool to make doodle guys. but pinups are to be done two.

Hi!
This project has been a really painfull one. Certainly for stupid reasons.
I’ve been a long time affraid by the carvings; how to keep precision, fine lines, fidelity to the original design. I’ve tested many ways. but the result was crap. recently, i decided to work on curve mode, as THE way to manage curves…but i failed. too long to process, too many problems to set only one curve. But i had to finish it. so. i use painting to create masks for the volume parts, and Dam_Standard with lazy mouse. some times with backtrack line. it’s not perfect. but done for me. it’s also been a computer fail all this last day, loosing tablet, waiting hours for the soft to process. only an answer: too many faces. i had to go to 18M Poly to be able to carve this way…many fail, and many things learnt! only one answer: done!

Really quick Tip that can be usefull: when searching for a face with Dynamesh, and happy before going further, creating some quick "good-retopo"like groups before remeshing helps after, creating an organic flow. (mask/CTRLW=group by mask/Zremesher with group “on”)
as it appends often. just saw a cool design i wanted to make in 3d…

Very beautiful! You are one of the reason why I’m still visiting ZBC.
How long it took you to sculpt? And was it started in rest position and then posed or was it asymmetrical sculpting from the beginning?
Thanks!
Ha ha you’re a crazy man!
Well i did all in symmetry, head from a sphere, body with Z sphères.
may have taken an hour, if wouldn’t have left weird topology on the thighs, after i discovered that they where blended as i wanted them to be fleshy…
One hour… I always feel so dumb when I realize that someone can achieve results like this in such a short period of time. I can waste entire week just to scrap it in the end.
PS Thanks for sharing the video.
well. can’t understand why my ZB takes 600Mo of memory for a switch of subtool.
Though, i’ve been able to finish those guys as i thought: something really soft, like infinity or more simple.
