Xada, your busts are killing me. You have excellent skills in finding THE pose. Respect also to your references btw. 
About painting.
This is a serious field I watched a lot of hobby artists doing amazing things.
They used pretty thin colors from Vallejo or something like that.
They blend very carefully and the smaller the maquette is, the more they paint shadows to simmulate volume.
All this with very thin layers, cause sometimes they are painting just 20mm or so figures.
As you are now into real life production, maybe you are interested in this?
Me, I just tried it once, with normal acrylic paint. Much too thick. A lot of detail gets lost and the surface was not nice.
But I guess with the correct material, some patience it will be possible to come close to thise masterpieces like ownage does.
As said, some of the hobbiest I saw are almost on same level.
If that is your target, I would have a look at that.
Some of your mercyless macro pictures show some space to approve.
But isn’t always about what target you have
