Hey, I was wondering if there’s any way to create bump and/or specular maps in Zbrush? And if so, could you point me in the direction of a decent tutorial? Thanks.
Forgive my noobiness, after two years you’d think I knew everything about this program by now haha
bump
Hi DaMaher.
Of course you can paint bumps directly into UVmap with polypaint, there’s a fine material for preview. (the last one I think).
My question is what will you do with a bumpmap?
You can export normal map or displacement from a Hi polys model. Just have geometry at its lower state and create a normalmap from normal palette, copy normal and export it. before exporting obj you should vertically invert uv map!

Communicating With The Others
Honestly, a displacement map can be used as a bump map. It will give better results than manually painting one. But a normal map is better yet, if your rendering engine supports them.
As for spec maps, see the FAQ>Texturing section here at ZBC.
its going into vue which cant import norm maps.
