I was wondering about this tutorial: Gears of War Step by Step
It says to make pieces to make levels like a box that is 6 segments high and wide so you can bend it and snap things other pieces together like another box that is not bent in order to create a house. My question is wouldent doing this be too high of poly count to be useful in games? I mean I tried a simple bent wall in max and it is 192 polys with over 500 edges!
I’m assuming his tutorial is for normal mapping but I was wondering if there are any suggestions on making levels and buildings n such for games from various models that aren’t all in one piece?
