Great work and great render!
Thanks for the breakdown. This image is really one of the most impressive I’ve seen here on last times. I hope the site adms put it on the top row… This one really deserves.
Congratulations for this job, Muppet man!
Hey great stuff!
btw what’s a bugbear hehe
perfect!!!
congrats!!
Great render!
Nice image!
It probably isn’t exact since I flattened a lot of layers that were then adjusted using levels.
Use should stamp your layers instead of collapsing them. From the Photoshop docs:
Stamp all visible layers
- Turn visibility on for the layers you want to merge.
- Press Shift+Ctrl+Alt+E (Windows) or Shift+Command+Option+E (Mac OS). Photoshop creates a new layer containing the merged content.
Great work!!! Thanks for showing your process. Just one question how do you do the element separation part?
looking at this makes my day.
I couldn’t even begin to count the number of perfect high notes this hits
It was only a matter of time before this became top row! Congrats! I love it!
Thanks,
Dave Wolf
Very, very nice.
Nice! yes, i like the style you have here. i really appreciate the blue rim
dude sick! Love it! Also dig your comping breakdown. Keep this stuff comin
Chris,
This is a big help and I wanted to thank you for posting the process. I did a test by taking your process pic, cutting it up, and pasting all the layers back together in Photoshop with the proper layer styles like you demonstrated and the effect was perfect.
Could you possibly tell us which materials you used for your spec and rim light? I’d definitely like to try this out with my own models.
Thanks again for posting!
Amazing work m8 well done!!!
wooo hooo! Top row established, as it should be. I should also be checking out
the robot and your blog more regularly too. A lot of inspiration going on with
them. Really georgeous (coloured) female illustration you have on your blog espescially.
Edit:- Thanks so much for posting up your process and the layer blend modes
underneath the images, it makes a lot of sense now. Without that type I would
have no idea what the element selection layer would be used for. But now it has
all gelled, thanks for that. Also for the link to the book that using the technique
as well as DOF. Awesome! and Congratulations again!
