BUG? right click nav and local transforms

at least I think it’s a bug… doesn’t seem like appropriate behavior anyway.

if you’re using local transforms, right click navigation behaves as if you’ve sculpted on the mesh. meaning, the center of the local transform changes to wherever you right clicked to rotate. I’ve found this to be very problematic when working on a tight area such as a head, and then rotating around and accidentally right click navigating on an object such as a hand or shoulder that has rotated into the foreground. The center changes, and then the area I was working on gets rotated out of my view.

Is this working as intended?

Yes, I’ve noticed that if you have local transformations on and right click over the object, it counts as a “contact” towards re centering the pivot. It’s basically simply the exact same behavior as traditional pen down/left click navigation, but with a different button.

If this is problematic for you, you can always use traditional Zbrush navigation as usual, until the functionality is refined in a subsequent version, unless you can train yourself to always drag from off the canvas. It shouldn’t be a problem if you are sculpting with a tablet, unless you are rotating with the pen clicker rather than traditional tablet nav. There is nothing else to be done at the moment, short of turning off Local Transformations.
