Bug? Insert Cube with Curve Mode Crashes

Repeatable crash in ZBrush 4 r4 on a Mac running OS 10.6.8.

Turning on curve mode for the insert cube brush consistently kills the program.

Processor: 2 x 3 GHz Dual Core Intel Xeon
Memory: 8 GB 667 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM

Has anyone else seen this?

Thought I would just do a test and I agree, mine had a serious hangup. Had to reboot.

2 x GPU’s

Now there seems to be a bunch of crashing going on, unrelated to the brush cited in my first post. I just got a crash after saving a file. Below are some of the details.

I had posted elsewhere about administrator/memory problems when I was on my work PC, but I’m on my Mac right now. Does this look like a similar issue? The “Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS” sounds suspect. I’m the only one who uses this computer, and there shouldn’t be any problems with this thing writing to any folder/drive.

Any help is appreciated.

Got the same result, crash with insert cube and insert cylinder when curve mode is on.

stone3D & Treece:

What are the exact errors you see when you do this? Or is there no error and you just see ZBrush locking up?

No error message.

Sorry for delay. No errors displayed. Zbrush doesn’t lock up, but it’s as if I’m working on a computer that only has 512mb of ram and a rubbish processor, if that makes sense? It’s as if it’s trying to use all computer resources to carry out the calculation. Very slow and jumpy when moving the mouse cursor. Even trying to go into task manager to try and end zbrush took ages.
