Brush Stroke Problem

Hi guys, got a little issue.
When i stroke, say with a standard brush, and with my wacom tablet, i always get stamp marks of the brush right at the begining and right at the end. It s just not a uniform stroke as it should be. The only way to correct this, and have a nice and uniform stroke is when i turn lazy mouse ON, even with a value of 1.
Can someone explain me, please, why without lazy mouse i cant get a uniform stroke, without those starting and ending little stamps? The stroke is higher at the ends. In mudbox, this doesnt happen, with or without lazy mouse.
I tried all possible settings i could think of, but could not fix this. If i use mouse without lazy mouse, the stroke is uniform as it should be. With PEN, no.

Thank you.

what version of Zbrush are you using
what wacom tablet are you using
Are you drivers up to date?
What OS?
what are you tablet settings in Zbrush
pics?

Hi, thank you for answering.
Zbrush 4R6 with latest service release
Wacom intuous 4… It s in perfect working condition.
WIN 7, NVIDIA Titan, 32 GB ram, I7-3930k 3.20 Ghz.
I think really it must be some setting, or it s how zbrush really behaves without lazy mouse and pens. With mouse everything is fine. When lazy mouse is off, the build up of the brush is way stronger, i dont understand why, if i am aplying the same pressure, when using pen.It s quite a huge difference in surface protrusion.

Looking forward to hearing from you guys.
Cheers.

well I’ve got nothing. I’d put in a support ticket for it. All I know is it shouldn’t be doing that.

Nah. I ll just use mudbox, which will never fail me  ZB works fine with lazy mouse setting of 1, so it will be fine too.
I think it s too sensisitive ZB. i tried size and pressure sensitivity tweaks, but it did not solve anything.
This marks can actually make sense, because 1stt time u touch tablet and when u lift up, there must be a pressure variation. but there should be also some damping function to counter act this.
Thank you.

I think it’s your tablet settings (not the ones inside Zbrush).

You could have it set too soft, which makes it more sensitive to initial pressure levels.

My Wacom and Zbrush work just fine without the issue you’re showing.

Ok, thanks for the input.
My tablet setting are at default. and i reset them too to no avail.
I ll try with the cintiq this week someday. the driver will be the same, but the table no.
Besides, i am using the driver that comes in the cd, the old one. for one reason.
Wacom screwed up big time with driver updates. A well known issue is for example, getting jagged lines when drawing in photoshop. I can only fix that issue by using the cd driver, the old one.

Thanks.

Try setting it to a firmer setting.

It could very well be the old drivers. I seem to recall that issue quite a while ago, but I could just be imagining things.

I would try updating to the latest Wacom drivers and see if it’s still an issue.

Sucks sometimes to rely on Wacom products for production. Sometimes one software tool works while another gets broken.

Yeah. You are right.
Ok, i will try tomorrow to install latest drivers, and I ll keep you posted about it having worked or not.
Fingers crossed.
Cheers.

Well, here are the new developments.
Unfortunately, not good news.
I installed the very latest driver, and behaviour is same.
I tried using USE GOBAL SETTINGS on and off, under brush settings, but it doesnt make a difference too.
In mudbox, this doesnt happen, which makes me assume there should be no problem with the tablet itself.
With lazymouse set to lowest level, i can work fine, making the lazy mouse function barely noticeable, so this would make me continue work fine. Sure…I just wanted it to behave as it should, as we all do
This is most stressful. I m really not happy :frowning: .
