Brush settings to make wedge-shaped cut with standard brush

Rather than just grab a pre-made brush solution, I’ve been trying to figure out how to manipulate the brush settings to create an adjustable wedge cut (create a “V”, anyway from a low to high angle). I’m doing this to help me with planar analysis of a human figure, as this will allow the various planes to be quickly indicated.

This is suppose to also be a good exercise to understand how the Brush settings and things like Focal Shift work. But I’ve tried a multitude of different brush settings and adjusted a number of curves and don’t seem to be getting any closer to achieving a wedge cut.

Thanks, Norman

Maybe you could draw out a mask and then use the rotate tool on it to rotate one side out.

You can get a nice V wedge by turning the Brush > Modifiers > Brush Modifiers up to +100.
Also change your Focal shift to something like -50 to get a very sharp edge.

Look at a premade brush and compare its settings to other standard brushes. It should help you understand which settings to play with.
