Brush Scaling and Symmetry Center

I have two questions:

  1. When I scale or zoom into my model to get closer, the brush size resizes; it becomes bigger as I zoom out, and smaller as I zoom in. Is there any way to deactivate this brush scaling?

  2. Is there a way to change the center of symmetry on the brush? For example, if I use radial symmetry, it is limited to the center of the model and cannot move around. Is there any way to move the center around?

There is a plugin for keeping brush size relative to the model. Marcus made it a while ago. You should be able to find it in the plugins section.

  1. Brush size does not scale when you scale the subtool and can not be set to do so. However, you can use the ‘Store Draw size’ and ‘Reset Draw Size’ buttons in the ‘Adjust’ plugin which can be found in the ‘Plugin’ menu. If it’s not there, then you can download the plugin from the Download Center.

  2. If you want to move the symmetry center, just move the subtool with the ‘Move’ transform (W) or use ‘Offset’ in the ‘Deformation’ subpalette. You can also use ‘S.Pivot’ and ‘C.Pivot’ buttons in ‘Transform’ menu. Hover your cursor over the buttons and press ‘Ctrl’ for an explanation of what they do.
