Brush modifier has no effect on clay-type brushes

Hello,

Has anyone else noticed that the ‘brush modifier’ setting, which for non-standard brushes is described as setting the max elevation a brush stroke will reach, has no effect on clay brushes?

I tried 0, and I should see no effect with a clay stroke, but I see it pushing up the surface on each stroke.
I tried -100, and I still see the same positive elevation on the surface (instead of a subtraction in elevation).
I tried various values between 0 and 100 and the surface is pushed up by the same amount, regardless of brush mod setting.

I reset all brushes before testing. I’m using Zbrush 4R8 Patch 2 on Windows 10.

Thanks,

I just tried downgrading to ZBrush 4R7 and the brush modifier still doesn’t affect elevation of clay brushes…

I guess I’ll ask this another way. Can someone else confirm that they see the same behavior?

If this is expected, how does one set the clay brushes to build up more or less material on the surface (given Z intensity at 100)?

Increase the brush imbed value…

Thanks, good workaround…
