Brush for polypainting for polygroups (answered)

Hi,
I used to use the LayerBrush in ZB 3.5 to colorize an object to then define polygroups, but as the LayerBrush changed quite lot in ZB 4, this does not work anymore. No more hard edges, which are needed for this kind of painting.
So, I’m looking for either a way to change the LayerBrush back to its behavious in ZB 3.5 or any other brush that gives those perfectly hard edges when painting with RBG Intensity 100.

Any help would be appreciated!

Chris

Try one of the Pen brushes like Pen A with rgb set at 100

The clay buildup brush give a nice hard edge for polypainting.

Here’s a custom brush for you that works pretty much like the old Layer brush - all set up for polypainting. If you put it in your ZStartup/BrushPresets folder it will always be in your Brush palette.

The Pen Brush… could have figured out than myself :o
Clay also works great!

Thank you both for the reply!!

Chris

Hi Marcus,

You made my day!

its the same brush as layer brush which ships default with zbrush with zintensity set to 0.

Yes, custom brushes are always variants of existing brushes, set up to be more convenient than adjusting the settings yourself. Many of the default brushes are basically variants of the same brush.
