Broken topology

I’m receiving broken areas around the fingers and toes when converting my wireframe cage to adaptive skin.

This particular model shown was produced from the super average man, but the problem is reoccurring on all of my models.

have you tried exporting it out with weld turned on then reimport it back in? Perhaps that will fix things for ya til someone figures out why its happening in the first place.

If you read through all of the Topology and Flow Lab you’ll see that this is a known issue and are a few workarounds. I say the simplest is to just not make the fingers and toes in retop and just edge loop them out once you make your skin.

Thank you for responding to my topology question.

I would deffinately like to try the weld feature, but I am unable to find it’s location in Zbrush 3.1 to be able to enable it. Could you be more specific on it’s location in the program?

I have made some accidental progress with the topology as shown below. I removed the two topology lines across the base of the fore finger leaving their anchor points and then previewed the adaptive skin. Not only were the two broken areas nearest the topology lines closed off, but the pinky finger aswell. Unfortunately I am unable to reproduce these results everytime. I am hopeful that this can be resolved sometime in the near future.

tool>export or
tool>import menus have weld option you can set

oops forgot to mention that when importing you probably need to have the polymesh(star shaped) tool selected to see the import menu
