Broken Nose ?

Is there a switch somewhere that controls the auto-mask after mesh insert trick?

I notice that all the ‘pre-canned’ mesh insert brushes (cylinder, ear, head, hand etc) auto mask
after the insert, but not the nose. Lol!

I was wondering if it was just a tool setting thing.

Ross.

The switch that controls this is Brush>Auto Masking>Auto-Mask Mesh insert.

It doesn’t appear functional for the Nose tool, though.

You could try isolating the nose geometry that the tool draws, saving it as your own PM3d, and making your own custom mesh insert brush cloned from one of the other functional insert brushes, with that nose assigned to it.

Thanks.

You can also ‘Ctrl+click’ on the canvas to mask everything before you draw the nose.

Doh! Yes. Since masking won’t affect the addition.
